I was a child I have been fascinated with ghosts and images of ghosts. This fascination has stayed with me all my adult life and in 1999 with the help of some friends I began a new project I called ghoulsonfilm. The aim was set up a website to simply feature images of a paranormal nature. The project asked people to send in any image which they deemed ghostly or strange, no questions asked.
Obviously, most images are probably fakes and many are simply a
photographic accident or anomalie. But occaisionally one turns up which appears to defy all the tests and then raises further questions.
I also formed a team of five members including myself, and together
we investigated a number of haunted locations and caught some
amazing photographic anomalies on camera. Whether an image is
true, fake or anomalie, I find them completely fasinating and often
quite beautiful and I hope this project at least conveys a little of why
I find paranormal images so enticing.
The project resulted in a ghost images exhibition in my studio in the George Street Cultural Quarter of St Helens town centre which was generously sponsored by the St Helens Ravenhead Renaissance".
