Background to the TAYLOR PARK Appariton Sightings

How it all started!
The Ghoulsonfilm team got involved with the investigation of Taylor Park Grey Lady sightings quite by
chance. Followers of the website will know that I held a halloween exhibition in 2002 and it was at this
event that I met the original witnessness to this particular sighting. I had half remembered the story
being reported in the local St.Helens Newspaper, the St Helens Star. (See & read original story -left).

STORY IN BRIEF: In February 1986, a young man went to meet his fiance at the Grange Park Pub as
she was working as a barmaid there. He would arrive at last orders and have a couple of drinks after
doors closed before they both left at about 11.30pm. From there they made their way to Taylor Park
entrance so that they could do their regular, twice a week journey through the park to the housing
estate located accros the park where the young barmaid lived at that time. As they walked they would
chat and kiss until they would arrive at their routine stop at one of the little huts that lined the lake
but set back behind large bushes. On this particular night they decided to sit in a different hut than
they would normally sit in and that was when it all turned paranormal. Within a couple of minutes of
sitting down they heard a strange eerie whipping sound coming from behind the hut. Thinking it was
a Peeping Tom or worse they decided to make a move. As they moved quickly away the whipping
sound got louder and closer. Then, as they came out into the clearing so that the lake became in view
there right bfore them at about 25ft away was the Grey Lady, stood quite calmly, glowing like a light
bulb. The young barmaid seeing this, turned to her man, gripping his collar so hard she scratched
his neck. - Can you see that - she said staring into his eyes.
The young man had already seen the spectre and replied - I think.......its a ghost -
The spectre then began to float along until she stopped for a moment, turned to look at the couple
then continued walking until she hit the bushes and disappeared into mist. The couple were
transfixed to the spot but a s soon as she vanished, the terrified couple ran as though for their lives,
the quickest way out of the park. The couple could not bring themselves to go through Taylor Park
for up to a year after.
